Conditions for the applicant
- Legal residence in France for at least 18 months
- Stable sufficient income (at least SMIC for 2 people)
- Compliant housing (9 m² per person minimum)
New 2026 requirements
- Applicant must demonstrate A1 French level minimum
- Arriving spouse must sign the Republican Integration Contract (CIR)
Contesting a rejection
