Since July 2025, CAF automatically verifies all beneficiaries' IBAN accounts. Any bank account not matching the exact name of the beneficiary triggers an automatic 60-day payment suspension.
Who is most affected?
- Foreigners without a French bank account yet
- Persons using a family member's or friend's account
- New arrivals temporarily using a helper's account
Important: A spouse's account is not sufficient — you need your own account in your exact name.
How to fix this quickly
- Open a bank account in your name (Nickel, Revolut, La Poste or traditional bank)
- Log in to caf.fr → Mon compte → Mes coordonnées bancaires
- Update your RIB — the suspension is lifted upon receipt of a valid new RIB
